Lent

My friend, Jill, posted some thoughts on her blog about upcoming Lent. She shared a poem and I loved it. I want to pass it on.

Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything.
That’s how the light gets in.
–Leonard Cohen

There is so much hope in this poem. I hear:

Come as you are, Lindsey.
Come as you are.
Cracked as you are, Lindsey.
Come as you are.
Give what is true. And
come as you are.

That IS a great poem, Lindsey. Speaks to God's true desire...our affection, not a nice appearance.
