Anyone ever watch Saturday Night Live's "Deep thoughts, by Jack Handey"? Well, if this doesn't remind you of one of those little musings (minus the fact that Jack's thoughts were, um, lame and only mildly funny and Sydney's little sayings are altogether fabulous and hilarious...and NO, I'm not biased...except that I am...terribly...biased...and fine with it!!!), than I don't know what will!
I came home the other night to Patrick putting this little vid together. At some point in the evening Sydney said, "Dad, what's abstract mean?" and as he tried to explain, she looked at this candle...

PS. If you can't read the text in the vid (it's pretty tiny, I just noticed), she basically says -in reference to trying to wrap her mind around the concept of "abstract" - "kinda like...that looks like two girls and one boy trying to dance together, but they can't touch." Yes, little brilliant mind, that is an abstract thought.

that cracks me up! oh sydney. i think you should make "deep thoughts by sydney" a regular segment on your blog! i'm sure you hear a lot of thoughts all day long!
